Leicester to rest in-form Jamie Vardy in Capital One Cup match vs. Hull

Claudio Ranieri will rest Jamie Vardy for Leicester's trip to Hull to keep him fresh for their assault on the Premier League.

The Foxes go to the Tigers in the Capital One Cup fourth round on Tuesday with Ranieri set to make wholesale changes.

Leicester sit fifth in the table, having lost just once this season, and Vardy joined an elite group of players when he scored in his seventh successive Premier League game to beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday.

He is the league's top scorer with 10 goals and boss Ranieri will give the England international a break at the KC Stadium.

"No, Jamie will come with us but he will not play," he said.

"I'll change a lot, like the other [cup] matches. I have a very good group and they deserve to play and I'll change everyone, more or less.

"I'd like to go through, I know Hull is a difficult match for us. They are second in the [Championship] and lost against Arsenal in the FA Cup (final) in 2014. I respect Steve [Bruce] a lot and we are very focused."

Jeff Schlupp is suspended after collecting his fifth booking in the win over Crystal Palace while Leonardo Ulloa trained on Monday after he missed the victory with a muscle injury.

The Foxes recorded their first clean sheet of the season against Palace and Ranieri vowed to fulfil his promise to buy his players pizza, but not until the end of the week.

"The pizza, I didn't do it yet -- maybe Thursday," he added.
