Riyad Mahrez and Claudio Ranieri delighted with Leicester comeback

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez hailed his side's spirit after they fought back from two goals down at Stoke City.

First-half strikes from Bojan Krkic and Jonathan Walters put the Potters 2-0 up -- but Claudio Ranieri's men rallied in the second half.

Mahrez scored from the penalty spot for his fifth goal of the season before Jamie Vardy salvaged a point for the visitors.

In their previous fixture, the Foxes had come from two goals down to beat Aston Villa 3-2.

Mahrez was quoted by the BBC as saying "We have a good team spirit and players who fight. We scored two goals and could have scored more. The most important thing is the team.

"We can do better than the first half, but most importantly we didn't lose. This season is good for me. But without my teammates I would not be able to do this."

Manager Ranieri added: "It is not so good that we have to come back. We started well for the first 12 minutes, but they found a very good goal and the second was our mistake.

"After that, we believed anything could be possible. But it won't be possible every time. I told the players we needed to show pride and strength and to continue to play.

"They were more desperate during the first half and we were more desperate in the second.

"We are now in a good way but it is important to continue this. The spirit is good. It is good for [our position in] the table, and important for us to work during training."

Asked about a promise he had made before the match to buy his players pizza if they kept their first clean sheet of their season so far, he added: "No pizza, no hot dog, no nothing! They are maybe waiting for something more -- wine, cheese...

"I love a clean sheet -- I am an Italian man!''
