Manchester City have completed the signing of Wilfried Bony from Swansea City for an initial fee of 25 million pounds.
The Ivory Coast Football Association announced the transfer earlier on Wednesday, before Swansea issued a statement clarifying that the deal had not yet been rubber-stamped.
However, both Premier League clubs have now confirmed the switch following a medical in the United Arab Emirates, where the forward is at a training camp with Ivory Coast.
Bony was the Premier League's 20-goal top scorer in the calendar year of 2014 and struck 34 times in 70 games for Swansea after joining from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013.
He will not be available to make his debut for his new club until February as he, along with City vice-captain Yaya Toure, is in Ivory Coast's squad for the African Nations Cup.

Bony told City's official website: "It's a great feeling for me, it's a big honour to be here and it's a great challenge.
"As a player it's always good to be part of one of the biggest clubs in the world and it's a good opportunity for me to be in that situation now -- I'm really proud.
"I felt excited to wait for this moment and, now it's come, it's fantastic.
"I think it's a great decision for me -- Manchester City is in the Champions League. You remember at the end of last season I said that if I want to move it will be to a team in the competition because it's a great tournament that I really want to play in and one that I want to win.
"It's a motivation for me to give my maximum to be in that place. City is a big club with great players with a lot of experience; I believe we can do it."
City moved for Bony, who could cost an extra three million pounds in add-ons, after deciding they wanted to have a quartet of strikers again and after Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic were all injured at the same time in December.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini prefers to have four forwards in his squad, as City did last season, but they lost Alvaro Negredo to Valencia on the final day of the summer transfer window.
While the Spaniard's 30 million-euro move to La Liga will only go through at the end of this season, UEFA has permitted City, who are limited to a 49 million-pound net spend this season for breaching financial fair play, to use the funds this month.
His arrival means Pellegrini has to omit one of his foreign players from his Champions League squad, when he is limited to 16 footballers who do not qualify as homegrown.

Bony is likely to be City's only January signing, but Pellegrini has not ruled out making further additions.
The 26-year-old, who was Swansea's record signing when they paid 12 million pounds for him, becomes their record sale, replacing Joe Allen, whose 2012 move to Liverpool brought in 15 million pounds.
He scored three goals in two games against City as a Swansea player and signed a new contract at the Liberty Stadium as recently as November.
