Francesco Totti is a genius, Roma boss Rudi Garcia says

Roma coach Rudi Garcia praised Francesco Totti as a "genius" after the striker's brace in the 2-2 derby draw /italian-serie-a/match/403664/as-roma-lazio/reportwith Lazio.

Totti, 38, led the Roma comeback against their local rivals after the Giallorossi found themselves two goals down in the first half.

In the postmatch news conference, Garcia said: "When Totti gets the ball in the box, he has this genial efficiency. Totti's first goal was the fruit of two strokes of genius -- Strootman's assist and the captain's goal. That first goal was essential. We needed just one goal to change our psychological attitude."

Garcia added: "Totti has strokes of genius, because he is a genius. I could feel it -- I even told [goalkeeper] Morgan De Sanctis before the derby that I had a feeling it could be 'his' match today, and I wasn't wrong."

Totti's unique celebration of his second goal -- when he took a selfie on the pitch -- has gone viral.

The player told Sky Sport Italia: "I thought about it earlier in the week. Although they're fashionable now, I'm not used to taking selfies because I tend to keep my private life private, but this was a unique, unrepeatable chance [to have] a souvenir of the match."
