Mix Diskerud coy on 2015 season plans

Mix Diskerud on Thursday refuted rumors that he will head to Club Tijuana, telling ESPN FC that if he plays in the Americas at all, it will be in an MLS club.

"A club somewhere in Estados Unidos - if - in the Americas," Diskerud wrote in an email when asked for clarification about his 2015 plans. "If I do sign with a new club - it will either be my new or old club that gets to inform you of it.

In an email on Friday, Diskerud sought to clarify his position by stating that he did not intend to specify that the United States would be his destination if he was to leave Europe.

"I have had fantastic people, with so much passion for their clubs and our sport approach me lately. I do not want to disappoint anyone. Not now. Not after the season is over either," the U.S. midfielder said in his original email to ESPN FC. "So things are - pretty much the same."

A Club Tijuana press official did not comment on Thursday about reports that Diskerud was headed to Xolos in Liga MX, according to a report on MLSSoccer.com.

The 23-year-old helped Norwegian club Rosenborg clinch a Europa League qualifying berth for next season but is now out of contract.

Rosenborg sport director Erik Hoftun has not confirmed nor denied Diskerud's status with the Tippeligaen silver medalists, according to MLSSoccer.com.
