Barcelona's goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen passed fit for debut

BARCELONA, Spain --Barcelona say German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been cleared to make his debut for the club after recovering from a back injury.

Ter Stegen, who arrived from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer, has yet to play an official match for the Catalan side after injuring his back in training last month.

Barcelona added that Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta have trained away from the first team, with the pair nursing leg injuries.

Messi hurt a right leg muscle during Sunday's 1-0 win at Villarreal while Iniesta missed the win citing pain in his left knee.

Neither star will play with their respective national teams this week.

The club say that back-up goalkeeper Jordi Masip has fractured a finger and will be sidelined for four weeks.
