Klopp optimistic over Reus future

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp believes attacker Marco Reus will stay at the club for a long time, he told ZDF TV following the 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend.

Germany international Reus, 25, has found himself in the middle of a war of words between Dortmund and Bayern Munich, who are interested in signing him, while he has also been linked with a switch to other European leagues.

He is under contract at Dortmund until 2017, but his deal includes a 25 million-euro release clause that can be triggered in 2015.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed the sum of that clause, but Dortmund hope to extend the deal to either eliminate or increase it.

And Klopp said: "I have a good feeling that Marco will stay with us for quite a while."

However, local paper Ruhr Nachrichten reported on Sunday that negotiations between the player and the club had faltered in recent months.
