Javier Hernandez dropped by Mexico

Manchester United forward Javier Chicharito Hernandez's agent was in Manchester discussing his future with the club.

Miguel Herrera will leave Javier Hernandez out of his Mexico squad for the nation's upcoming friendlies in order for the Manchester United striker to decide where his club future lies.

- Sources: Di Maria on verge of United move
- Payne: Change the watchword at United
- Mitten: Twisted words amid transfer tales

Hernandez, 26, struggled for game time under David Moyes last season, and scored just four goals in 24 Premier League appearances last season.

Herrera told ESPN FC earlier this month that the striker should leave Old Trafford in order to kickstart his career, and the El Tri coach has now decided to give Hernandez time to find a solution before the transfer window shuts.

"I had a word with him and we agreed that the best thing was to wait, most of all so he can stay where he is and decide his future," Herrera told Mediotiempo, according to Sky Sports. "It's not good for him, and nor for me, to have him in the team if he has his mind on what could happen with him.

"We are both calm, we are not in any hurry. We took the decision together so he can wait and see if there is a transfer or if he will stay there at Manchester."

Hernandez's agent Eduardo Hernandez was coy on the striker's future, saying: "For the moment we don't have any news from Manchester, neither for if he is going to continue playing there nor if they are going to negotiate his departure."

Herrera believes a move away from the Red Devils would benefit Hernandez, saying: "I think [Chicharito] needs to leave. I think [Juventus] would be a good option for him. When a coach doesn't want you -- when you have your best experience, your best moment with them, and now the coach that wanted you is no longer there -- it's time to move.

"I think there are a lot of opportunities. They are not bad opportunities. If he goes to Juventus that would be an extraordinary team. Without a doubt, it would be a nice change for him. Hopefully he'll see more minutes."
