Bruno Zuculini joins Valencia on loan

Manuel Pellegrini is pleased that Manchester City started their Premier League campaign with a win.

Manchester City have agreed to loan midfielder Bruno Zuculini to Valencia for the season.

- Dzeko to sign new Man City deal
- Curtis: City open with tidy victory

The 21-year-old Argentine -- who was only officially confirmed as a City player earlier this month -- will spend the campaign with the La Liga side to give him a chance to experience first-team football, a move confirmed on Valencia's official website.

Zuculini, who cost City 1.5 million pounds from Racing Club, featured prominently in their preseason tour of the U.S. and came on as a substitute in the 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.

However, he was always seen as a signing for the future and it was anticipated that he would either go into the Premier League champions' Elite Development Squad or out on loan.

After City manager Manuel Pellegrini brought in two other central midfielders, with Porto's Fernando joining for 12 million pounds and New York City FC's Frank Lampard arriving on loan, he allowed Zuculini to move to Valencia.

Zuculini, who made his debut for Racing at 16, was a regular in their side but has not played in Europe before.

City have loaned out several young players, with Portuguese winger Marcos Lopes at Lille, Dutch defender Karim Rekik rejoining PSV Eindhoven, Welsh midfielder Emyr Huws signing for Wigan and Belgian centre-back Jason Denayer going to Celtic.

Striker Devante Cole, who is the son of former City, Manchester United and England forward Andy, has been borrowed by League One Barnsley.
