Crystal Palace have chosen Malky Mackay as their new manager, club sources have told ESPN FC.

Mackay's appointment comes after both and he and rival candidate Tim Sherwood met co-chairman Steve Parish extensively over the last few days following Tony Pulis' departure on Thursday.
The Scot's links with Palace's sporting director Iain Moody are long established, and it is expected that he will continue with the club's existing transfer plans, which was one of the factors for Pulis' exit just two days before the start of the season.
Mackay and Moody had previously worked together at Cardiff City, where they achieved promotion to the Premier League for the Welsh side in 2012-13 only to see them both leave the club midway through last season.
Moody left the Cardiff City Stadium in October after being told he was being replaced by 23-year-old Alisher Apsalyamov, and took up his current post at Palace soon afterwards.
Mackay stayed on at that time, only to be sacked by Cardiff owner Vincent Tan on Dec. 27 following a 3-0 defeat to Southampton. Cardiff were eventually relegated after his replacement, Ole Gunner Solskjaer, was unable to arrest the club's slide down the table.
Palace caretaker manager Keith Millen was in charge on Saturday when the club opened their new campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Arsenal. Their first home match of the season is next Saturday, when they host London rivals West Ham United.
