Sources: Tony Pulis leaves Palace

Tony Pulis has left Crystal Palace by mutual consent, just a few days before the start of the 2014-15 Premier League season, according to ESPN FC sources.

- Daly: Instability reigns as Pulis leaves Palace

Pulis, 56, held crisis talks with club co-chairman Steve Parish on Thursday night over what the coach believed was a debilitating lack of transfer activity. A move for Manchester United's out-of-favour winger Wilfried Zaha is believed to have brought the situation to a head as Pulis wanted the youngster on loan.

Sources stated to ESPN FC earlier that the coach has been "fuming" after missing out on virtually all of his top targets -- most notably defender Steven Caulker, who joined QPR. Palace have only signed Frazier Campbell from Cardiff City, Brede Hangeland on a free, Blackpool's Chris Kettings and Martin Kelly from Liverpool so far. They are the Premier League's lowest spenders this summer, having spent just 2.4 million pounds.

The club will reportedly issue a statement on Friday to address Pulis' resignation before holding an afternoon news conference.

Palace take on Arsenal in their first game of the new season on Saturday afternoon at the Emirates, with assistant Keith Millen handed the job of leading the side.
