Ronaldo, Neuer, Robben up for award
Cristiano Ronaldo, Manuel Neuer and Arjen Robben have made the final shortlist for the 2013-14 UEFA Best Player in Europe Award.
The trio made the initial longlist released last month, which also included Angel Di Maria, Philipp Lahm, Thomas Muller, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Diego Costa and James Rodriguez.
And UEFA has now whittled that selection down to a final three, with the award -- won last year by Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery -- due to be handed out on Aug. 28 at the Champions League group stage draw.
Ronaldo, who has yet to win the award since it was first handed out in 2011, is among the final nominees for a fourth consecutive year after inspiring Real Madrid to Champions League glory.
The Portugal captain also broke the record for the most goals scored in a Champions League campaign along the way, netting 17 times.
Neuer played a key role in helping Germany to a fourth World Cup in Brazil, keeping four clean sheets in seven games.
The Bayern goalkeeper also helped his side to a domestic Double last season and was named German Footballer of the Year for a second time.
His club teammate Robben, meanwhile, struck 21 times last term to help Bayern to their domestic Double, while he also scored three goals in Netherlands' run to the World Cup semifinals this summer.
