Norwich probe racist chant allegations

Martin Olsson was charged by the FA for making contact with referee Simon Hooper on Sunday.

Norwich City are investigating allegations of racist behaviour by "two or three" of their fans during the club's first Championship match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Life outside the Premier League couldn't have started any worse for Norwich. In their first competitive match since relegation from the top division, the Canaries lost 1-0 at Wolves, saw one of their top players push a referee in the chest after being shown a red card and then received complaints of racial abuse.

Norwich said Monday they are investigating allegations of racist behavior during the match at Molineux. The club passed a number of complaints on to the police, vowing that any supporters found guilty will be banned for life.

Later on Monday, left-back Martin Olsson was charged with improper conduct by the FA for "making physical contact with the referee" following his sending-off in the 60th minute.

The Sweden international has until Thursday to respond to the charge.
