Roma now 100 percent foreign-owned

ROME -- Roma has become the first Italian football club to be owned entirely by foreigners after Italian bank UniCredit sold its stake to the American group of investors led by club president James Pallotta.

A statement by Roma on Monday says UniCredit has sold its remaining 31-percent stake in Roma's controlling company, NEEP Roma Holding SpA, to AS Roma SPV LLP for 33 million euros ($44 million).

AS Roma SPV LLP now holds a 100-percent stake of NEEP, having bought the club with UniCredit in 2011 in a 60-40 split.
