West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison has been released on bail after his arrest on allegations of two counts of common assault on his ex-girlfriend and her mother.

England under-21 international Morrison was bailed on Monday after having originally been refused bail.

The 21-year-old is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday, and his future at West Ham could be in question depending upon the outcome.

The same court had rejected an application for bail last Thursday after 21-year-old Morrison was alleged to have assaulted ex-girlfriend Reah Mansoor, 19, and her mother Parveen Mansoor, 39, in the early hours of Sunday, July 27. He was arrested the following Wednesday and appeared in court on the Thursday.

District Judge James Prowse refused a bail application made by Morrison's solicitor, Ros Emsley-Smith. The defendant, who did not enter a plea, was remanded into custody until Aug. 7.

But bail was granted by Judge Michael Henshall following the private hearing on Monday. His bail conditions were not given by the court following a request from the press.
