Spanish midfielder Oriol Romeu has joined Stuttgart on a season-long loan from Chelsea, the Premier League club have announced.
Romeu will spend the 2014-15 season in the Bundesliga after playing in Spain last term for Valencia, a statement on Chelsea's official website confirmed.
The 22-year-old is loaned out by the club less than three weeks after signing a new, three-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge.
He has made just 15 Premier League starts since joining the Blues from Barcelona in 2011, although he was sidelined long term by an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered at Sunderland in December 2012.
Chelsea were in Germany for a friendly at Werder Bremen on Sunday, a match which they lost 3-0.
