Aspas warns Moreno off Liverpool

Iago Aspas has advised Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno against joining Liverpool.

The Daily Mail has reported that Liverpool have revived their interest in Moreno after missing out on Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand, who has joined Southampton on a season-long loan.

However, Aspas -- who is currently on a season-long loan from the Reds -- has told Moreno he is already enjoying life in Seville more than on Merseyside, despite having only been there for a few days.

"I have not yet spoken with Alberto about Liverpool," Aspas said at his official unveiling, according to ABC de Sevilla. "Yes, it is true that his teammates have had some banter with him on the topic, but if it's a question about quality of life, I would say that Sevilla is better than being there, that's for sure.

"I have only been at Sevilla three or four days but, now I belong to Sevilla, I would prefer him to stay here."

Aspas' move could be made permanent at the end of the season and he is relishing the prospect of regular playing time given his bit-part role at Liverpool, where he scored one goal in 15 appearances over the course of the 2013-14 campaign.

"After last season, when I did not enjoy the minutes I wanted, the possibility of coming to Sevilla came," Aspas added. "Immediately I had a lot of enthusiasm about coming here and I hope that everything goes well, not only this year but also in terms of a long-term contract. I cannot deny I'm happy."

Liverpool had pursued Moreno earlier in the summer but failed to reach an agreement with Sevilla, who were said to be seeking more than 20 million pounds for the player.

Europa League winners Sevilla are reported to be keen to keep hold of Moreno until after the UEFA Super Cup tie against Real Madrid on Aug. 12.
