De Laurentiis confirms Fellaini interest

Napoli have confirmed their interest in Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini but insist he is not the only player under consideration as they look to strengthen their midfield.

The Serie A side are reportedly trying to take the Belgium international on loan from Old Trafford.

President Aurelio de Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss: "Fellaini is one of the names but he is not the only one on the table."

De Laurentiis focused on Fellaini's famously big hair, adding: "It's a lion's head. That's good. His hair could be in line with the Neapolitan style."

Fellaini joined United for 27.5 million pounds last summer but struggled in an injury-hit first season at Old Trafford, when he failed to score and was sent off once.

He was bought by his former Everton manager David Moyes, who was sacked in April.

New United manager Louis van Gaal has already signed one central midfielder, Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera, and is expected to buy another

Fellaini has not featured in United's preseason tour of the United States because he has been granted time off after helping Belgium reach the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

But his future is the subject of speculation with reports Van Gaal is willing to sell Fellaini, although no fee has been agreed between United and Napoli.
