Lichtsteiner agent predicts Juve stay

The agent of Swiss full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner says that the player is hopeful of signing a new deal at Juventus despite a breakdown in contract negotiations.

The 30-year-old's current deal is due to expire in 2015 and he has been linked with a summer move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Lichtsteiner has been a mainstay in the Bianconeri defence since joining from Lazio in 2011 and Federico Pastorello expects the player to don the black and white jersey for years to come.

"His contract is due to expire in 2015 and the parties are still pretty distant. We discussed a new deal in the previous months but without reaching an agreement," he told Sky Sport Italia, as reported by calciomercato.com.

"I believe that he will remain at Juve, but the contract is certainly something that needs to be addressed."
