Sami Khedira transfer talk downplayed

Sami Khedira's agent insists the Real Madrid midfielder is not in talks over a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea.

- Brewin: World Cup has been kind to Mourinho
- Lythell/Worrall: Make or break for Mourinho?

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Khedira this summer and, while it was reported a fee had been agreed for the German, the club were thought to have concerns over his cost and wage demands.

However, the player's agent Jorg Neubauer told Telegraph Sport no fee had been agreed for his client and that he had not heard from either Premier League club.

Neubauer said: "We are not in talks with Arsenal. I don't think a fee can have been agreed, otherwise I would have been told.

"When a club have an interest I am sure they will call me and we will speak about things. The same goes for Chelsea."

Khedira, who only has a year remaining on his contract at Madrid, was favoured by Jose Mourinho during his reign at the Bernabeu and the Daily Mail claims the Chelsea manager is attempting to persuade the 27-year-old to move to Stamford Bridge.

However, after winning the World Cup with Germany in Brazil, Khedira is currently on holiday and Neubauer says that, while they are in talks with Madrid, nothing has been decided yet.

"We are talking to Real Madrid about his contract, but nothing is close to being decided. Sami has just returned from the World Cup and has gone on holiday."
