Stoke hopeful on Bojan Krkic deal

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has said in the Daily Telegraph the club are "quietly confident" of bringing Barcelona's Bojan Krkic to the Britannia Stadium.

Bojan has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou this summer, with competition for places set to be fierce ahead of Luis Suarez's expected arrival from Liverpool.

The Spanish forward spent last season on loan at Ajax, scoring four goals in 24 Eredivisie appearances, and Sky Sports has claimed a season-long loan switch to Stoke is in the offing.

Coates said: "[Manager] Mark [Hughes] has met with the player and we're quietly confident of getting it all completed soon.

"Attacking players have been very much the focus for Mark since the end of last season and obviously Bojan would be another very good addition."
