Werder Bremen sign Izet Hajrovic

Werder Bremen have signed Bosnia international midfielder Izet Hajrovic on a free transfer from Galatasaray.

Hajrovic, 22, started the 2-1 defeat against Argentina and the 1-0 defeat against Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup but did not feature in the 3-1 victory against Iran.

The attacking midfielder had only moved to Turkey from Swiss side Grasshoppers in January but FIFA allowed him to terminate his contract and move without a transfer fee after failing to be paid.

The Switzerland-born has signed a four-year contract at Bremen, and will join his new teammates for preseason on July 19.

"We are delighted to have him on board. We are convinced that he will quickly integrate and can develop his sporting talents," Werder sporting director Thomas Eichin said.

Werder coach Robin Dutt added: "He is another option for the attack. He is quick, has good ball control, and is a great dribbler."
