Dani Alves to discuss Barcelona future

Dani Alves says he wants to stay at Barcelona, but is willing to leave if he is no longer wanted at the Catalan club.

It had been widely thought that Alves, 31, would leave the Camp Nou this summer, as part of an overhaul of the squad under new coach Luis Enrique. Long-serving players including Carles Puyol, Victor Valdes and Cesc Fabregas have already moved on as part of that shake-up, with the future of others including Xavi Hernandez also up in the air.

However Alves' potential move to Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly stalled, while Barca's reported plan to replace him with Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado has not yet moved forward either.

The right-back, who lost his place to Maicon during the current World Cup, said in Mundo Deportivo that he would talk to Barca figures about his future once the competition was over, but ideally he would remain at the club.

"When I return to Barcelona I will speak with the people at the club and see what they want," Alves said. "If they want me to go I will look for an exit, if they want me to stay, I will continue. I have a contract with Barca and I have always given everything for the club, regardless of the results of the last years. I want to stay, but it does not just depend on me."
