Louis van Gaal adds to backroom staff

Louis van Gaal has added the coach of Netherlands' under-21 team to his backroom staff at Manchester United.

Albert Stuivenberg becomes the third Dutchman to join Van Gaal's coaching team at Old Trafford, along with chief opposition scout Marcel Bout and goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek.

The 43-year-old, who will be United's assistant coach, spent seven years as manager of Netherlands' under-17 teams, winning the European Championship in both 2011 and 2012.

Stuivenberg, who has been in charge of his country's under-21 team for the last year, began his coaching career at Feyenoord.

He will relinquish his coaching duties with Netherlands to start at United with immediate effect.

Assistant manager Ryan Giggs is the one internal appointment in the new-look regime.
