Alvaro Negredo wanted at Atletico

New Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya says he would love to see the club sign Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo this summer.

With Diego Costa on his way to Chelsea and David Villa having left for New York City FC, Atletico are in the market for a new attacker.

A source has told ESPN FC that City do not want to sell Negredo, while the player himself has yet to comment on his future.

But Moya -- who joined from Getafe -- would prefer to see him at the Vicente Calderon ahead of the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Romelu Lukaku and Jackson Martinez, who have all been linked with the Spanish champions.

"On a personal level, among all of them, I can say that he is my preferred choice, the ideal one, especially because I know him. He's Spanish and I like him a lot," Moya told AS of the former Real Madrid player.

"But if we're talking about Mandzukic, Jackson or Lukaku, they are also among the top 20 strikers in the world."

As well as Costa and Villa departing Atletico, Thibaut Courtois is returning to parent club Chelsea, while Tiago, Filipe Luis and Joao Miranda have all been tipped to leave Diego Simeone's side this summer.

However, Moya, who has been signed to help make up for the loss of Courtois, is confident adequate replacements will be brought in to cover any key losses.

"As much as 20 percent of the starting lineup of the last two years could be going, but the club have told me that the intention is to continue being a great team, and if an important player leaves they will go for another of the same level," he said.
