Relegated trio start season on road

Cardiff, relegated last season, start Championship life at Blackburn.

The three teams relegated from the Premier League begin life in the Championship on the road as they launch their bids to return to the top flight at the first attempt on Aug. 9.

- Premier League fixture list
- Championship fixture list
- League One fixture list
- League Two fixture list

Norwich travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers, the runaway winners of League One, while Fulham meet the Canaries' East Anglian rivals Ipswich at Portman Road. Cardiff, who were bottom of the Premier League, go to Blackburn.

Brentford, who finished as runners-up to Wolves to seal promotion after missing out in agonising fashion on the final day of the season before, are at home to Charlton in a London derby as they play in the second tier for the first time since 1992.

League One playoff winners Rotherham, whose dramatic comeback saw them pip Leyton Orient in a penalty shootout, play Derby -- the losers of the Championship playoff final -- away from home.

Championship playoff semifinal losers Wigan and Reading face each other at the DW Stadium, while Brighton, who also missed out at that stage and are now managed by ex-Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia, face Sheffield Wednesday at the Amex Stadium.

Stuart Pearce begins his return to Nottingham Forest as a manager, hoping to inspire the sort of success he enjoyed there as a player, with a visit from a Blackpool side who narrowly escaped the drop to League One after enduring a long winless run.
