The East Anglian derby will come too soon for Ipswich's summer signing Cameron Stewart.

The winger was sidelined at the beginning of August with a fractured jaw and it could be another couple of weeks until he returns.

Elliott Hewitt could make an appearance after returning to the bench as an unused substitute in Tuesday's draw with Birmingham, following a groin problem.

Mick McCarthy may include Stephen Hunt in his matchday squad after a calf injury and he played in the Tractor Boys' youth team's win over Lowestoft Town on Tuesday.

New signings Carlos Cuellar and Cameron Jerome will go straight into the Norwich squad.

Midfielder Leroy Fer has exited Carrow Road to join QPR while defender Martin Olsson remains suspended after his FA charge for improper conduct.

Defender Javier Garrido (hamstring) will be assessed while midfielder Jonny Howson (medial knee ligament) and striker Gary Hooper (calf) remain sidelined.

This is the first meeting since Norwich prevailed 5-1 in Suffolk in April 2011 on their way to clinching promotion to the Barclays Premier League having won 4-1 at Carrow Road earlier in the season.
