Bell signs Rangers deal

Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cameron Bell has agreed to join Rangers when their transfer embargo is lifted at the end of August.

Bell, 26, will sign a four-year contract and revealed he had turned down the opportunity of a move to England in order to pursue the opportunity of playing at Ibrox.

He told the club’s official website: "There was no way I was going to turn down the chance to be a Rangers player.

"I think I've got enough experience now. I've played for a few years in the SPL and I've got that behind me.

"I had opportunities to move before now, it wasn't right though as I needed a bit longer. I think now is the right time for me to step on and it's a no-brainer, it didn't take long to make the decision.

"I got a phone call from my agent who told me Rangers were going to offer me a contract. He also said another team was going to offer me a contract down south and they wanted me to go down the next day.

"I said 'no, forget it' as I wanted to go to Rangers and that was it, I had made my decision. That was the club I wanted to go to and I know I've made the right decision.

"It's a massive club and it's one of the biggest clubs in Europe so there was no way I was going to turn down the chance to be a Rangers player.

"Hopefully I can prove to the fans that I can be a Rangers number one. My first job is to go out and prove to people that I'm good enough to be here."
