Dylan Kerr resigns from Gor Mahia

Gor Mahia have confirmed that they have parted ways with English coach Dylan Kerr, who led K'Ogalo to two consecutive Kenyan Premier League titles.

The manager travelled to England with the team for last week's Sportpesa Cup clash against Everton at Goodison Park, but didn't return to Kenya with Gor amidst a health scare.

The club confirmed in a statement on Thursday that Kerr had handed in his resignation and would not be returning to Kenya.

"I have today received a resignation letter from coach Dylan Kerr," read a statement from chairman Ambrose Rachier. "On behalf of the club, l accept the resignation because he has been good and candid enough.

"As per his letter, he is going for greener pastures and l want to wish him all the best."

In his resignation letter, Kerr confirmed that he was taking up another offer, although didn't reveal who he would be signing for.

"With a very sad heart, l have decided to accept another coaching role for the 2018/19 season," Kerr's statement began.

"To players, all l can say is a thank you for being amazing - everyone played their part with fun, enthusiasm, hard work and most of all belief in what l demanded for both on and off the field.

"I hope you continue having the vision l constantly told you and always remember no regrets."

Kerr, who took over from Ze Maria in July 2017, has helped Gor win the Kenyan Premier League twice, while he also led the club to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

Gor have been paired against Malawi's Nyasa Big Bullets FC in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League which kicks off later this month.
