Siphiwe Tshabalala finally gets his overseas move

Siphiwe Tshabalala has finally got his overseas move, with Kaizer Chiefs confirming on Tuesday that an agreement with Turkish Super Lig side BB Erzurumspor has been reached.

The 33-year-old midfielder leaves Amakhosi after a trophy-laden 11 years, having joined from Free State Stars back in January 2007.

Tshabalala had been tipped to move overseas a number of time through the years, especially after his heroics at the 2010 World Cup, but for whatever reason it never transpired.

"I always wanted to play overseas, in particular in Europe, and I have never been shy to talk about that," he told Chiefs' official website.

"It should have happened a long time ago, but I think that it's God's time. I am grateful that God is giving me this huge opportunity to showcase my talent in Europe."

In total, Tshabalala played 372 games for Chiefs, scoring 58 goals. He won two league titles, three Telkom Knockout winners' medals, the MTN8 twice and the Nedbank Cup.

On the international scene he represented South Africa 89 times, scoring 12 goals, including the memorable opener of the 2010 World Cup on home soil.
