Cristiano Ronaldo will finish career at Juventus, says agent Jorge Mendes

New Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti says Italian football will be highly enriched with Cristiano Ronaldo joining Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid for quite an expensive fee, but the FC guys feel everyone involved in the transfer comes out a winner.
ESPN FC's Stewart Robson and Craig Burley explain just how monumental Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Juventus is for world football.

Cristiano Ronaldo will retire at Juventus, agent Jorge Mendes has revealed, effectively ruling out a possible return to Manchester United.

Ronaldo, who left Manchester United to join Real Madrid in 2009, has always held the door open to a potential return to Old Trafford. However, after the 33-year-old agreed to join Juventus this week on a four-year deal, Mendes said his client will not make another move.

"I'm very happy for Cristiano," he told Sport. "Juventus will be his last club and I'm glad he has made this decision. With this team he'll close out his marvellous career."

Mendes also praised the Juventus board for making the deal happen, adding: "I thank [Juventus president] Andrea Agnelli in particular for his determination and his willingness to negotiate with Real Madrid.

"And I also thank [Juventus general manager] Beppe Marotta for his professionalism."

Ronaldo will officially be presented as a Juventus player on Monday after he completes his medical. At €100m (£88.3m), he will become the club's record signing.

The deal has been well received in Italy as it is a sign Serie A is able to compete with Europe's biggest leagues. However, not everyone is happy about it. Fiat workers in the southern Italy town of Melfi will go on strike in protest at the car manufacturer's involvement in the financial aspect of the transfer.
