Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero considering move into coaching

Juventus and Italy legend Alessandro Del Piero has said the idea of coaching is "increasingly attractive" as he considers options for the future.

Del Piero, 43, has been working as a pundit for Sky Sport Italia since ending his playing career in 2014 after spells with Sydney FC and Delhi Dynamos following 19 years at Juventus.

However, he is now considering a career change and told Sky a move into coaching was a possibility.

"I still haven't decided what to do but coaching is getting increasingly attractive, also because there are lot from my generation who are now coaching," he said.

Del Piero, speaking after Juventus were beaten 3-0 at home by Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, was critical of some of coach Massimiliano Allegri's decisions.

"He's been praised plenty of times for his choices, but he could have done something a bit different after what happened in the Champions League final [a 4-1 defeat to Madrid last season]," Del Piero said.

"It has to be said, though, that Real Madrid are doing really well in this competition and they've developed an even greater hunger. They want to win the Champions League for a third year in a row to go down in history.

"It's not easy to digest all this immediately, but I think Juve have clear ideas and, while it's going to be hard for it to sink in, they will get back on track."
