Allegri targets history-making seventh straight Scudetto with Juventus

Massimiliano Allegri says Juventus cannot afford to take their foot off the gas after thrashing Sassuolo 7-0.

Gonzalo Higuain scored a hat trick as the Bianconeri romped to a win which put them top of Serie A ahead of Napoli's late kick-off against Benevento.

And head coach Allegri felt the Allianz Stadium result was all the more impressive as it came on the back of a 1-0 Coppa Italia semifinal win at Atalanta in midweek.

"After Tuesday evening against Atalanta, it wasn't easy to keep the concentration high," Allegri told the club's official website.

"I'm pleased with how we went about things: after coming off the back of an important victory, we ran the risk of slacking off.

"We can't afford any slip-ups. Today it was important to keep pace with Napoli and break away from the teams behind us at the same time. Compliments to the lads."

Higuain netted all of his goals in the second half after Juventus had gone into the break four goals to the good.

Sami Khedira scored twice and goals from Alex Sandro and Miralem Pjanic helped to sink Sassuolo, who rarely provided a threat of their own.

"Higuain put in a good performance but he wasn't alone," Allegri added. "The whole team is developing physically, technically and mentally.

"Every year Juve are different. We've changed a lot and we'll probably change again in the future. However, the lads are aware of their duty and, aside from being top players, they're also great people.

"I want to achieve something never done before -- winning seven Scudetto titles in a row. So, let's put these seven goals behind us and start focusing on Fiorentina, which is never an easy fixture for Juventus."
