Juventus' Gonzalo Higuain desperate to score vs. AC Milan, Donnarumma

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain is hoping it will be a case of third time lucky when he faces AC Milan and teenage goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on Saturday.

While wearing the Azzurri shirt of Napoli last season, Higuain, 28, failed to beat the then 16-year-old Donnarumma in two meetings, despite scoring a total of 36 Serie A goals that campaign.

That haul saw the Argentina international score at least one goal against every club in Serie A, other than Milan and Roma, and he intends to make up for that this weekend.

"I want to score on Saturday," he told Juve's television channel JTV. "I don't know how, but I am so desperate to score. Last year, I wasn't able to score against Milan but I want to make amends for that this year."

Higuain did manage to put one goal past Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon last season, but he says he is glad now to be on the same side as a "legend."

Gonzalo Higuain got Juventus off to a winning start in Serie A.
Gonzalo Higuain failed to scored against AC Milan last season while at Napoli.

"I can only be grateful to Gigi for the compliments he has paid me, because his words are sacred," Higuain said. "He's a crazy goalkeeper. The other day, he made some incredible saves which enabled us to win the game [against Lyon]. He's a legend."

Higuain is also relishing his new partnership at the other end of the field with Paulo Dybala. The pair have scored nine league goals between them so far this season, and have a strong relationship off the field too.

"My understanding with Dybala is amazing," Higuain said. "We're also together when the team meets up [before games]. I come to training with him and we try to be together as much as possible. We've got a great bond."
