Gonzalo Higuain: Juventus 'not at our best' despite Champions League win

Gonzalo Higuain spoke of his delight at being a Juventus player after opening his Champions League account for the club on Tuesday, but admits there's room for improvement.

The Argentina international -- an Italian domestic transfer record €90-million arrival from Napoli this summer -- helped the Bianconeri pick up their first win in Europe this season with a goal in a 4-0 triumph at Dinamo Zagreb.

It was already his fifth goal in a black and white shirt and reinforced his conviction that he made the right move in joining Juve this summer.

"This is a good spell for me," Higuain told Mediaset television. "I've only been here for two months and everything's new to me, but I'm getting better bit by bit. I'm trying to get to know my teammates and they are trying to get to know me.

"Maybe we're not at our very best yet, but we're getting there and I'm delighted to be at Juventus. I was made to feel welcome here from the first moment."

Alongside him in the Juve attack on Tuesday night was Paulo Dybala, who also found the back of the net.

"I prefer to have Paulo close to me, but it all comes down to how the circumstances change during matches," Higuain said. "This was a great game in terms of our attitude: we won and we're heading the way we want to be heading and now we hope to win again before the [international] break."

Although they are top of Serie A and leading their Champions League group, the Bianconeri have drawn criticism in a defeat to Inter Milan and a narrow 1-0 win over Palermo in recent weeks.
