Stephan Lichtsteiner has been left out of Juventus' Champions League group stage squad less than 24 hours after he turned down a move to Serie A rivals Inter Milan.
The Switzerland full-back, 32, is not expected to feature much for the Bianconeri this season following the free transfer arrival of Dani Alves and the deadline-day return of Juan Cuadrado.
Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri has now submitted his squad to UEFA for his side's first six games in the Champions League, with Lichtsteiner omitted and both Alves and Cuadrado included.
Even Hernanes, who was on the verge of joining Genoa on deadline day, has been included in Allegri's 22-man list.
Lichtsteiner has nevertheless promised to fight for his place in the Juve team, declaring on his Facebook page that he is as committed as ever to the cause, in spite of recent rumours.
"Dear Fans, I believe in facts rather than words," he wrote. "I live and breathe every game and every training session for the jersey that I wear and for the success of my team. That was never different and will never change! In this sense...FinoAllaFine!"
Lichtsteiner missed just two Champions League last season, due to a heart issue which sidelined him for over a month early in the season.
He was an ever-present in the competition as Juve reached the final in 2014-15, but has made only one substitute appearance in Juve's opening two Serie A games this term.
