Alvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic injuries a concern for Juventus

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is sweating on the injuries suffered by forwards Alvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic.

Morata left the field with an abdominal injury during Sunday's 2-0 win at Genoa, while he was followed off the field later by Mandzukic.

They join Sami Khedira, Claudio Marchisio and Kwadwo Asamoah in the treatment room and leave Allegri potentially with only Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza as his only recognised forwards for Wednesday night's clash with Frosinone.

Questions were asked about the growing injury list post match, but Allegri brushed them aside.

"I don't know much about these injuries -- abdominal injuries are not my specialisation," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia. "It's something unique and strange. It's my fault, just like it was when I was at AC Milan.

"I find it entertaining. It's entertaining to hear everybody talking, also because in the end all that matters are the results. It's a discussion which goes nowhere."

Morata, 22, is to undergo tests on Monday and Allegri will be hoping it is nothing major as his side prepare to host Frosinone in midweek before travelling to Napoli on Saturday.

The following Wednesday, they host Sevilla in the Champions League before Bologna pay the Juventus Stadium a visit in an important few weeks for the Bianconeri leading up to the next international break.

Sunday's win -- their first in the league all season -- lifted them to 12th in the standings, still eight points behind the early season pacesetters Inter Milan, who Allegri regards as favourites to win the title this season.

"I always said that Inter are favourites," he said. "Looking at the table today, we're a long way behind."

The Juve coach can take encouragement from his team's two results this week, with victories over Manchester City and Genoa, and with the performance in both of those games of Paul Pogba.

The France midfielder had looked out of sorts in the first few weeks of the Bianconeri's season, but he now appears to be finding his form again.

"We've not done anything yet, let's be clear about that," Pogba said. "We only had one point and now we've got four, but we need to rediscover some continuity in our performances and in our results.

"We're happy, but now we've got to move on like we know how. Losing [Andrea] Pirlo, [Carlos] Tevez and [Arturo] Vidal was hard to digest and now it's up to the younger players to take that leap. We need to assume more responsibility and I'm ready to play my part. I'm not scared of being the leader.

"Wearing the No. 10 shirt is not weighing me down. Wearing any Juve shirt is a huge burden -- not everybody can wear it. This makes me feel honoured to be here. I need to improve a great deal, but the team comes first and so my goal makes me happy only because it means we've got back to winning ways.

"My coach and my teammates have a lot of faith in me, and I won't let them down."

Pogba has a lot of faith in teammate Mario Lemina, who made his Juve debut in the 2-0 win.

"I get on really well with him," Pogba said. "It's only his first game and I'm really happy for him. I want to compliment him because it's not easy to make your debut in Genoa, against such tough opponents, but he did really, really well."
