Juventus rule out Didier Drogba deal

Juventus have dismissed rumours linking them with Didier Drogba and said Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba are not for sale.

- Rzouki: Juventus season review

Drogba had been linked with a move to the Bianconeri after announcing he will be leaving Galatasaray. His experience had made him an interesting candidate for a Juve side seeking to transform their domestic dominance into success in Europe next season, but their general manager, Beppe Marotta, says he is not the player they are looking for.

"Drogba is free and he has been offered to us, but we have never even considered a deal," Marotta said at a meeting in Milan. "We have clear ideas and we are a winning side, with our coach who leads the way. For this reason, I can exclude us the possibility of us selling any of our stars too.

"Real Madrid have shown their appreciation of Vidal, but no more than that. For Pogba, I hope we can sit down in the coming weeks to renew his contract."

Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be keen on Pogba, who could be one of the stars of this summer's World Cup, but France coach Didier Deschamps has warned him not to rest on his laurels.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a regular for club and country since his 2012 move from Manchester United.

However, although he scored a goal after starting Tuesday's 4-0 friendly victory over Norway, he was substituted at half-time by Deschamps, who was not entirely happy with the youngster's display.

He told the media: "His qualities are above average. He mustn't fall into the trap of taking it easy. He's aware of that. He has to eliminate the superfluous elements in his game. No one gains anything by them -- neither him nor the team. I told him after the game what I had liked and what I didn't like."
