Juve make contact over Lisandro

Olympique Lyonnais have admitted that "Juventus asked for Lisandro Lopez on loan" but that they are only prepared to release the striker if a more suitable offer is made.

Lopez has six goals this season
Lisandro has garnered interest across Europe

Lisandro, 29, has netted 54 goals in 102 matches for the Ligue 1 side and has been linked with a move to Turin as the Bianconeri search for a regular scorer to boost their Champions League and Scudetto ambitions.

Jean-Michel Aulas said that Juve had indeed made an offer but that it need not meet the French club’s valuation of the Argentinian.

"I can confirm that Juventus asked us for Lisandro Lopez on loan but we don’t like that option and do not want to release him," said the club president.

"Everyone knows what Lisandro has done for Lyon and what he can do in the future. He may not be at the apex of his career now, but he is a symbol for us, almost like Juninho was.

"If a proposal for the player arrives that we consider suitable for his value, then we will examine it and try to find a balance between sporting and economic needs."

"Let's not forget the player himself said he wanted to stay with us for a long time. In all honesty, I hope he will remain, because there are still great things we can do together.”

The player has been at Stade de Gerland almost four years after Lyon paid Porto €24 million for his services and it is believed they want a similar figure in order to sell Lopez. However, with Juventus believed to be close to securing Fernando Llorente next season, it seems they are only searching for a temporary solution.
