Marcus Haber and George Ray are both on international duty and will therefore miss Crewe's Johnstone's Paint Trophy contest against Rochdale.

The Alex, winners of this competition in 2013, will be without striker Haber and defender Ray as the duo are away with Canada and Wales Under-21s respectively.

Boss Steve Davis has confirmed Anthony Grant will play in midfield, while on-loan Manchester City full-back Greg Leigh has also been named as a starter.

Defenders Harry Davis (knee) and Thierry Audel (shoulder), and midfielder Jamie Ness (hamstring) and forward Ryan Colclough (hernia) are all still out.

Rochdale's new loan signing Shamir Fenelon could make his first start for the club after stepping off the substitutes' bench at the weekend.

Fenelon joined on a season-long loan from Brighton on Friday in time to make his first appearance in the home defeat to Bradford.

Boss Keith Hill has no new injury or suspension concerns and will select his starting XI from the same group of players.

Defender Michael Rose, strikers George Donnelly and Calvin Andrew, plus midfielder Stephen Dawson are among those pushing for recalls.
