Illness forces Stanley shuffle

Accrington may be forced into changes against Carlisle in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Three or four members of the first-team squad missed training on Monday because of illness and could face a race against time to feature at the Store First Stadium.

Luke Simpson is available again following suspension, however the goalkeeper was not included in the matchday squad for the loss to Bury on Saturday.

Defender Michael Liddle could feature after returning to full training following a knock.

Carlisle player/caretaker boss Paul Thirlwell has a host of injury issues as he takes charge of his first game following the sacking of manager Graham Kavanagh.

Centre-back Sean O'Hanlon sustained an ankle injury in Saturday's 5-0 defeat at Cambridge, while winger Danny Kearns missed out at the weekend due to a thigh problem picked up in training.

Striker Mark Beck has played no part this season due to an ear problem and defender Matty Robson remains sidelined with a knee injury.
