Carlo Ancelotti does not want to be Italy coach yet

Former AC Milan and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated that he would like to manage his native Italy one day, but not in the near future.

Ancelotti, 56, is currently taking time out from the game after being sacked by Real Madrid last season.

The Italian, who led Real Madrid to a 10th European Cup in 2014, recently said he was never contacted about replacing Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

There has been talk about him becoming manager of Italy after Euro 2016, when current manager Antonio Conte's contract expires, but he indicated that the timing would not suit him.

"I know that people are talking about it," he told L'Equipe. "But I want to coach every day. Of course I'd like to be coach of the national team one day but it's not the right time for me."

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager also believes that Angel Di Maria can help the Ligue 1 champions become one of the top four teams in Europe this season.

With the help of the Argentine winger, Ancelotti guided Real to Champions League glory last year.

Di Maria, 27, left for Manchester United that summer but after a disappointing season in England he made a €63 million switch to the French champions.

Ancelotti saw Di Maria score during PSG's opening Champions League group match against Malmo last month, a game Laurent Blanc's side won 2-0.

"You felt it was a PSG who not only have more experience but who also want to do better in the Champions League," the Italian said.

"It has to be said that the team has more quality with the arrival of Angel Di Maria."

Di Maria will face his former teammates when PSG host Real in a Group A clash at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

The Argentine international was named man of the match in the 2014 Champions League final and Ancelotti says he was vital in a campaign that culminated in a 4-1 victory over city rivals Atletico Madrid.

While Di Maria struggled at Old Trafford the following season, Ancelotti ended up leaving Los Blancos. He says the former Benfica player had been a massive loss that year.

"Without a doubt," the former AC Milan and Chelsea boss said. "We lost a great player -- professional and serious. I was really happy with him."
