Lazio up to fourth in Serie A after defeat of Sampdoria; Crotone win

Lazio are up a place to fourth in Serie A after bouncing back from their derby disappointment with a 2-1 win at Sampdoria on Saturday.

Simone Inzaghi's men looked eager to move on from losing 2-0 at home against Roma last time out as goals in the 40th minute by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and 44th by Marco Parolo, both set up by Felipe Anderson, put them in control at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Substitute Patrik Schick fired in what proved a mere consolation in the 89th minute for Sampdoria, who had been unbeaten in their previous five league games and stay ninth.

Earlier on Saturday, Crotone moved above Pescara in the Serie A relegation zone by beating them 2-1 at home -- only their second victory of the season.

After Raffaele Palladino converted a penalty for the hosts in the 24th minute, Pescara's Ledian Memushaj had one saved by Alex Cordaz just before half-time.

A man was subsequently sent off on each side, substitute Alberto Aquilani for the hosts and then Leonardo Capezzi, before Hugo Campagnaro drew things level in the 82nd minute -- only for Gianmarco Ferrari to seal the win for Crotone seconds later.

The result sees the clubs swap places in the table, with Crotone up to 18th and Pescara down to second-bottom.
