Gonzala Higuain brace guides Juventus to win as Napoli cruise

Gonzalo Higuain starred with a spectacular scissor kick as Juventus maintained their 100 percent start to the new Serie A season with a 3-1 win over Sassuolo on Saturday.

Higuain got off to a blistering start in Turin with a fine fourth minute opener before the acrobatic effort from inside the box put his side two goals up and left the visitors shell-shocked.

Miralem Pjanic added a third for the in-form hosts before the half-hour mark and there were fears Sassuolo, seeking to rebound from last week's 3-0 loss to Pescara, could be swamped.

But Luca Antei managed to reduce the deficit before half-time and a string of superb saves by visiting keeper Andrea Consigli kept the scoreline respectable.

The visitors could even have served up some anxious final seconds if Matteo Politano had not seen his effort booted off the line by Juve defender Stephan Lichtsteiner in stoppage time.

Marek Hamsik made history as Napoli also maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 win over Palermo in Sicily.

Hamsik struck his side's opener in the 47th minute in what was his 82nd Serie A goal for the club -- one more than one of the club's most famous players, Diego Maradona.

Jose Callejon followed up with a brace as the visitors spoiled the coaching debut of Roberto De Zerbi, who was forced to watch from the stands because of a touchline ban.
