Khouma Babacar helps Fiorentina stun Inter late; Milan hold on to beat Genoa

Substitute Khouma Babacar scored in stoppage time to give Fiorentina a controversial 2-1 win over Inter in the battle for third place in Serie A.

Inter opened the scoring when Rodrigo Palacio found the unmarked Marcelo Brozovic in the 26th minute.

But Fiorentina hit back when Borja Valero scored with a diving header on the hour mark.

Alex Telles was booked for the second time for a tackle on Federico Bernardeschi, though replays showed he may have gotten a touch on the ball.

Fiorentina made the advantage account late one as Babacar bundled a rebound into the back of the net.

There was more conflict to come, though, as Fiorentina's Mauro Zarate and Inter's Geoffrey Kondogbia were both shown red cards in the aftermath of the goal, and no one from Inter spoke to any media after the game.

Goals from Carlos Bacca and Keisuke Honda fired AC Milan to a 2-1 win over Genoa.

Strikes in each half ensured the hosts kept the pressure on Serie A's top five and left Genoa looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone. Alessio Cerci hit a consolation for Genoa but it was too late to deny Milan the victory.

Ciro Immobile scored his first brace for Torino as they beat Palermo 3-1 to move away from the relegation zone.

Alberto Gilardino took just two minutes to put Palermo ahead when he drove Michel Morganella's pass into the roof of the net.

It was all Torino from then on, however. A foul by Morganella handed Torino a chance to equalise from the penalty spot and Immobile duly obliged with a right-footed shot into the bottom left-hand corner of Stefano Sorrentino's goal.

Giancarlo Gonzalez then scored an own goal to put Torino 2-1 up on the half hour and Immobile secured the win with a rising left-footed shot after the break.

Sampdoria's winless run stretched to seven matches after a 0-0 draw at home to Atalanta.

The visitors made the brighter start and former Italy forward Alessandro Diamanti fired an early effort over the crossbar, before Mauricio Pinilla headed narrowly wide.

The hosts almost took the lead shortly after the break but Dodo's header from Mattia Cassani's cross was well saved by Marco Sportiello. Andrea Ranocchia had a late chance to win it for Samp but skewed his shot high and wide.

Mattia Destro's late winner helped Bologna to a 1-0 victory over hapless Udinese at the Stadio Friuli.

Rossoblu had not won at Udinese since 2005 and had lost the reverse fixture on match day six but the former Roma striker settled the score with a beautiful effort.

Stefano Colantuono's side are now winless in their last seven games.
