Giuseppe Rossi not leaving Fiorentina, says agent Andrea Pastorello

The agent for Italy international Giuseppe Rossi has indicated the American-born striker isn't thinking of leaving Fiorentina, despite a lack of playing time this season.

Rossi missed all of last season with a knee injury and has started just four games in the club's surprising Serie A campaign thus far.

"He's like a dog chasing his tail," Rossi's agent Andrea Pastorello said to FirenzeViola on Friday. "To be a top player he has to get back to full fitness, but to do that he needs to play consistently.

"It's a thought, nothing more. It's absolutely not a problem or a controversy, but there's no doubt that if he doesn't play it'll be difficult for him to get back to being the top player he is."

With minutes difficult to come by, the former Villarreal star's agent, however, dismissed rumours linking his client to a move elsewhere.

"Obviously there's respect for the choices of the coach, we'd never discuss them, especially now given Fiorentina are doing so well," Pastorello said. "Could he leave? No, the destinations I've read about aren't true. Let's wait and see how he does up until Christmas.

"Like all players he wants to play, he's suffering from this situation and it's better if he doesn't read about what's being said or written right now. He wants to come back and make his contribution for Fiorentina, but to do so he has to find the condition that only playing regularly can give him."
