Fiorentina cruise, go top; Inter Milan rescue draw; Morata sparks Juve

Fiorentina beat 10-man Atalanta 3-0 in Florence on Sunday evening to take sole possession of first place in Serie A.

Atalanta had defender Gabriel Paletta sent off for a red card in the fifth minute after he brought down Jakub Blaszczykowski in the area.

Josip Ilicic made no mistake from the resulting penalty to put the hosts ahead and the Viola doubled their lead in the 34th minute when Federico Bernardeschi spotted Borja Valero in the area and the Spaniard first home right-footed.

Fiorentina substitute Joan Verdu made it 3-0 seconds from time when he got on the end of Nikola Kalinic's pass to net.

Inter Milan came from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw at Sampdoria.

Inter dropped their first points of the season last week in a 4-1 loss to Fiorentina but avoided a second successive defeat when Ivan Perisic cancelled out Luis Muriel's opener.

Sampdoria which had the best of the first-half chances and Joaquin Correa produced the worst miss of the season in the 38th minute.

Correa was one-on-one with Samir Handanovic and his effort took a lucky ricochet off the Inter goalkeeper to leave the Argentine midfielder in front of an open goal but he incredibly sent his effort wide of the far post from two yards out.

Muriel atoned for his teammate's error early in the second half, volleying in a cross from 17-year-old Pedro Pereira.

Inter levelled 14 minutes from time in somewhat chaotic fashion. Mauro Icardi's volley took a double ricochet but he was able to prod the rebound into the path of Perisic, who poked it into the bottom corner for his first Serie A goal.

Striker Alvaro Morata inspired Juventus to a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Bologna.

The Spain international hit the back of the net for the first time in Serie A this season in the 33rd minute to cancel out Anthony Mounier's fifth-minute opener.

Morata also earned a penalty seven minutes after the restart when he was brought down by Bologna's Alex Ferrari in the area and Juve team-mate Paulo Dybala converted the spot-kick.

Morata then set up fellow former Real Madrid star Sami Khedira, who wrapped the victory in the 63rd minute. The outcome in Turin is only Juve's second league win this season.

Roma are two points behind Inter after winning 4-2 at Palermo.

Miralem Pjanic gave Roma the lead after just 108 seconds, rolling the ball into the bottom right corner after a one-two with Alessandro Florenzi.

The pair combined for another goal in the 14th minute when Pjanic's scuffed shot turned into an assist for Florenzi.

Roma were 3-0 up inside the half hour mark when Gervinho dribbled along the edge of the penalty area before curling a delightful effort into the top right corner, but Alberto Gilardino came on at halftime and reduced the deficit with his first goal for Palermo.

Palermo threatened a comeback when Giancarlo Gonzalez scored early in injury time but Gervinho secured the points with his second of the match.

Lorenzo Insigne struck twice and set up another as Napoli romped to a 4-0 win over AC Milan at the San Siro.

Allan put Napoli on their way to a first away league win of the season in the 13th minute before Insigne, who created that chance, doubled the visitors' advantage three minutes after the restart.

The Italy forward added his second of the evening in the 67th minute before an own goal from Milan defender Rodrigo Ely with 13 minutes left completed the scoring as Napoli ended the Rossoneri's 100 percent home record this season in style.

Substitute Keita Balde Diao scored his first Serie A goal of the season in the 80th minute to help Lazio remain perfect at home with a 2-0 win over Frosinone.

Frosinone had been close to breaking the deadlock in the 66th minute but Leonardo Blanchard's header struck the crossbar.

Lazio doubled their lead at the death when Frosinone goalkeeper Nicola Leali kept Felipe Anderson's lobbed attempt out but only as far as Djordjevic, who tapped in the rebound.

Diego Perotti's 76th-minute equaliser from the penalty spot secured Genoa their first away point of the season in a 1-1 draw at Udinese.

Udinese, 2-1 winners at Bologna in the previous round, went ahead two minutes into the second half when Antonio Di Natale latched onto Felipe's pass and tapped in from four yards for his first goal of the season.

Udinese conceded a penalty when Danilo brought down Serge Gapke in the box and Perotti drove the spot-kick past Udinese keeper Orestis Karnezis.

In the day's early kickoff, Massimo Maccarone's late goal gave Empoli their first home win of the season and ended Sassuolo's unbeaten start in Serie A.

Maccarone's 88th-minute header earned a 1-0 victory for Empoli, who ended the game with 10 men.
