Paul Pogba signs new Juventus contract to extend stay until 2019

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2019.

The Serie A champions announced the new contract on Thursday morning via Twitter after an agreement was reached on a four-and-a-half-year deal with improved terms.

The 21-year-old's previous Bianconeri contract -- signed when he arrived from Manchester United in 2012 -- had been due to expire in 2016.

Speculation had suggested that the France international could return to Old Trafford, but Tuttosport said he would now be one of the highest earners at Juventus.

Pogba rose rapidly to prominence after moving to Juventus, becoming a regular and a full France international. He is now only three games away from completing a century of appearances for the Serie A champions.
