Carlos Tevez's father held for ransom

The lawyer for Carlos Tevez says the father of the Argentina and Juventus star has been kidnapped by unknown assailants on the outskirts of the Argentina capital Buenos Aires.

Three men allegedly took Juan Alberto Cabral from his car as he was traveling in the Buenos Aires suburn of Moron on Tuesday morning, law enforcement officials confirmed to La Nacion.

The family has received multiple calls for ransom, according to reports.

Lawyer Gustavo Galasso described the family Tuesday as "dismayed" by the news. He offered few other details.

Tevez has left training in Turin, Italy, to deal with the situation in Argentina, where the investigation is ongoing, reports said.
