Berlusconi vague on Seedorf future

Further doubt has been cast over the future of AC Milan coach Clarence Seedorf by the club's president Silvio Berlusconi, who has expressed his admiration for Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella.

Clarence Seedorf faces a battle to hold onto his job.
Seedorf replaced Massimiliano Allegri as Milan boss in January.

Despite winning six of their last seven games and having a contract until 2016, Seedorf's future with the Rossoneri is far from assured due to a reported difference of opinion with the club's general manager, Adriano Galliani.

"Let's just wait and see how the season ends," Berlusconi told Italia 7 television in quotes reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Then, as we always have done at Milan, we will decide together, with the managerial staff, who have the responsibility for the team, and with the board of advisors. It's all still up in the air."

Current Milan youth-team coach Filippo Inzaghi has been strongly linked with Seedorf's role from next season, but former Catania and Roma coach Montella, who led Fiorentina to the final of the Coppa Italia, and in all probability to fourth place in Serie A, has caught Berlusconi's eye.

"It appears he's done a good job at Fiorentina so far and, personally, he seems like a really nice guy," he said. "We'll decide everything at the end of the season. [Seedorf] has a contract that says he will be with us for the next two years."
